Top 2018 Paint Colors To Help You Sell Your Home Fast
As I stated in my video clip, I love bold colors! I’m not afraid to experiment, but that doesn’t mean everyone does. When you have potential buyers looking at your home, you want them to be able to imagine themselves living there. They want to be able to imagine color schemes they like and picture their decorations on the wall. Painting in neutral tones and de-cluttering your walls helps your buyer see themselves there. Even if you have neutral colors on the wall, a fresh coat of paint makes everything seem cleaner and brighter. You’d be surprised at how dirty our walls get!
While you might not be a fan of painting – here are some tips for you to help make the process easy from start to finish!
Make sure you have a drop cloth.
You wouldn’t want to ruin your floors, unless you plan on replacing them as well. Anything can be a drop cloth you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Old sheets work great.
Look around, make sure any holes in the wall are spackled and sanded so that your paint goes on the wall evenly. This is also a good time to take down some decorations and family photos. Because remember, the buyer wants to see themselves living there. While your taking pictures down and spackling holes, take off the outlet plates so you don’t get any paint on them and so they aren’t glued onto the wall.
Clean any dust or cobwebs off the walls and ceiling. You’re painting to give your home a fresh clean look and feeling to entice buyers!
Invest in painters’ tape!
Getting good quality painters tape will make the job much easier! Depending on the existing colors on your wall, you may need a primer but talk with your experts at the local paint store, they’ll be able to tell you exactly what you need.
Once you’ve spackled, cleaned, taped etc., it’s time to edge in. Buy an edging paint brush they work great! As for the walls, use rollers.
Take it room by room.
Picking out paint colors can be just as daunting as painting. I really love Sherman Williams because they have a bunch of beautiful neutral tones that won’t break the bank and will look fresh and on trend.
